Born in the year 1943 and raised in the United States, Arthur Spencer Pina de Alba has always been passionately involved in the arts. Upon completion of his studies at the nation's top- ranked Shaker Heights High School, Arthur was awarded the coveted "National Arts Award" in New York along with three Gold Key Awards. Having obtained a full arts scholarship, Arthur continued his studies at the prestigious Chounard Academy of the Arts in Los Angeles. After his second year at Chounard, Arthur transferred to California Institute of the Arts where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
After college, Arthur was heavily sought after as an illustrator/ graphic artist by a multitude of advertising agencies. Deciding upon Business Arts Agency in Chicago, Arthur relocated and spent the following three years working his way up to senior ad artist for high-profile clients. Being a true Californian at heart, the bitter winters of Chicago brought Arthur back to Los Angeles where he established an all-encompassing fine arts production company. His multi-media enterprise provided businesses and private parties with large scale murals and sculptures, as well as film posters, illustrations and storyboard art for the film industry. Arthur's endeavors also included album cover artwork and art production on such documentaries as "Gravity Is My Enemy" and "Conquistadores", narrated by Orson Welles. Through the movie industry and serious art collectors, Arthur acquired a following of devoted patrons of the arts.
During his time in Los Angeles, Arthur held successful solo exhibitions at the Crest Gallery in Beverly Hills and at the Ryder Gallery in Los Angeles.

Desiring a change of culture, and driven to expand his horizons, Arthur moved to Paris where he immediately made his mark at the Académie Royale de Paris and the A.P.S.D. ("Association des Peintres et Sculpteurs de la Danse.")
In Paris, Arthur became the art director for Click Magazine, a monthly mag devoted to fashion and photography. He also produced video clips and assisted in the publicity department at the Studio Puteaux.
By appointment of the director of the "Ballet de l'Opéra" in Paris, Arthur was the only artist given the exceptional privilege to paint Rudolf Nureyev, Patrick Dupont and the ballerinas and belletomes of this famous opera house.
Arthur currently resides on the Cote d'Azur where he continues to frequent the ballet millieu through his bronze sculptures. Arthur's studio on the French Riviera offers an inspiring location to create his work and to live a full life.
